The case for nihlism

A very intelligent and interesting professor of mine made a point in class yesterday that I wanted to share with Pickle Nation. The Gini Coefficient is a popular measure of wealth inequality in a country. A low Gini means that wealth is spread relatively evenly - think Scandanavia, which is in the .20's. A high Gini means it is spread unevenly - think Colombia, which is in the .60's.

Here's the rub - China (the world's largest communist country) and the US (the world's leading capitalist country) both have Gini's in the mid .40's. Is it all really about nothing?
